The most ASTERISK activities at Fall VON ever.

This VON is going to show the direct impact of Asterisk in the market. Besides the sessions and activities below we have many companies and groups who are using Asterisk to develop new services. With all these activities we have decided one more part of the program should be highlighted.

We have set up a special user group meeting on Wednesday night for all members of the VON Community in room 211 at 6PM. Anyone who is attending VON in any capacity is welcome to participate. If you want to show what your doing with Asterisk send an email to carl.ford@pulvermedia.com. It is our belief that this will be the richest participation of the Asterisk community ever, so it is my strong suggestion that you identify your desire to participate now. And come early so you can put in for the Digium / Asterisk raffle.

Asterisk makes a complete business- or carrier-class PBX out of an ordinary Linux computer, integrating with the telephony network as well as the new world of voice over IP and Internet. The Asterisk community has about a third of the Internet’s VoIP traffic associated with this clever IPBX that is used in a variety of ways by small carriers and large enterprises. It’s a solution that is more than what you would expect from a PBX, and provides a low cost alternative to expensive development platforms. Given its growing community of developers you should be in here to see that much of what you want is available and that which is not can be developed by third parties.
This course is an overview of Asterisk that also gives you insights in what is going on in the Asterisk community from one of the core
Asterisk developers.

Olle E Johansson, CEO, Edvina AB
Olle is an active Asterisk developer and an active member of the Asterisk community. He has writen many documenation pages, fixed many bugs in the SIP support of Asterisk and added quite a lot of new functions to Asterisk during the years. Olle is a member of the Asterisk Advisory Council and works on a daily basis with Asterisk in service provider networks. Olle also has a position as Asterisk evangelist and senior technical adviser with Voop, a European VoIP service provider.

Olle has been working with TCP/IP technologies since the early 90's and with IP telephony and Asterisk for many years. Olle has been teaching Asterisk for many students and is often speaking at conferences.
