Conferencing Solutions using VoIP

One of the amazing attributes of VoIP technology is its scalability to support many to any conferencing. Additionally, being IP-based, its support of shared applications for better collaboration is also a big productivity boost. These panelists share their experiences in developing conferencing solutions for an eager marketplace.



Scott Petrack, Divisional Chief Executive Officer, eDial, a division of Alcatel

Scott is Divisional CEO of eDial, a division of Alcatel, providing conferencing, collaboration and group communication products. Scott co-founded eDial and created the overall architecture and technical vision. He transitioned from Chief Technical Officer to Divisional CEO when eDial was acquired by Alcatel in September, 2004. Scott is a well known industry leader having pioneered Internet Telephony technology development as founding co-chair of the VoIP Forum, founding working group chair of the ETSI TIPHON project, co-author of RFCs 2833 (DTMF) and 2848 (PINT), and founding co-chair of the ENUM working group within the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). He served on the board of directors of the International Multimedia Teleconferencing Consortium (IMTC).



Patrick Tan, AVP, Applications, Ubiquity Software

As Assistant Vice President, Applications, Patrick Tan brings more than 17 years of telecommunication industry experience to Ubiquity. Prior to joining Ubiquity, he has held various positions from product management, marketing, business development to engineering. He also participated actively at different industry forum, such as the Frame Relay Forum where he served as the Asia Marketing and Development and Education Committee chair until 1999. He has a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Ottawa, and a B.S. Math degree from University of Waterloo.
