This panel is about the edge and what it means for network operators and equipment manufacturers.
Eyal Bartfeld, President and CEO, Integra5
With extensive experience in advanced messaging and electronic video processing technologies, Dr. Bartfeld co-founded Integra5 in 1999 to develop interactive messaging services and new applications for TV. Prior to Integra5, he founded unified messaging systems company, UniTel. Before that, he created and implemented new automated visual inspection technologies for QA within manufacturing processes for Opal Ltd., later acquired by Applied Materials, Inc. Earlier in his career, he conducted research, now published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, on how the eyes and brain process visual images. He is a widely published scientific expert and lead developer for a number of imaging-technology related patents and holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Hebrew University.
Tal Givoly, Chief Scientist, Amdocs
Tal is Chief Scientist at Amdocs. Tal joined Amdocs with the XACCT acquisition where he was Chief Scientist. Tal has over 18 years of telecommunications technologies and software development experience holding management positions in R&D and Product Management at Amdocs, XACCT, MIS, TICI, and other companies. Tal has several patents to his credit, is a frequent speaker at industry events and actively involved in industry consortia such as, IETF, ATIS, TMF and IPDR.org. Tal is on the board of TMF and IPDR.org and chairs the IPDR Protocol Working Group and ATIS/TMOC VoIP Accounting Management task-force. Tal received B.Sc. in Mathematics and Physics with Honors from Tel-Aviv University.
Jason Krikorian, CFO and VP Business Development, Sling Media
In the five years prior to co-founding Sling Media, Jason Krikorian acted as Partner in id8 Group Holdings, where he advised several companies on product and business strategy, including Microsoft, Hitachi, Viewsonic, and Synaptics. His areas of focus included mobile device platforms and digital media devices. He also drove business development activities for id8 Group. Mr. Krikorian joined id8 Group after spending several years in management consulting with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), advising Fortune 100 clients in the retail, automotive, and utilities sectors. Sling Media, Inc., based in San Mateo, CA, is a new kind of consumer electronics company working to demystify convergence technologies and to create empowering experiences for the digital media consumer.
Jeffrey Schline, Director of Marketing Communications, Trinity Convergence
Jeff Schline joined Trinity Convergence - a developer of embedded VoIP software solutions - in July of 2005 and is responsible for driving the company's corporate positioning and outbound marketing programs. Prior to Trinity, he spent 3 years at Tut Systems, a leading provider of IPTV solutions for telecommunications operators, where he was responsible for partner marketing programs that advanced the availability of end-to-end solutions across the IPTV ecosystem. During that time, Tut Systems deployed IPTV systems at more than 100 telcos across the globe. Previous roles include marketing and PR consulting to a variety of technology companies. He received a degree in Marketing from Villanova University and remains an avid Big East basketball fan.
