This session explores trends in Enterprise Voice and Data convergence, including:
· Are IP PBXs becoming part of the IT infrastructure?
· Do Enterprises migrate or Greenfield their implementations?
· Are carriers’ interconnections to customers changing how Enterprises communicate?
· Has VoIP forced additional bandwidth requirements on IT?
· Will trunking directly to "over IP" mean separate facilities?
Hans Eriksson, CTO, Xtrafone
Hans Eriksson is currently CTO at Xtrafone AB, a Swedish consumer VoIP Service Provider. Hans' history with VoIP started at Telia in 1997 and he quickly became their leading innovator and spokesperson regarding VoIP. He left Telia in 2000 for pulver.com and started Digisip, Sweden's first commercial VoIP operator, in 2002. After a short spell in 2004 with the Norwegian operator Telio he is now pushing the limits of VoIP again as the Xtrafone CTO. Hans is also involved in several projects to establish service providers in the developing countries using his open source Billing and Customer Care system.
Michel Laurence, CEO, Octasic
In 1998 Michel Laurence co-founded Octasic, a company that began by fulfilling design contracts for major semiconductor houses and has since grown to design its own proprietary silicon for Voice over Packet (VoP) applications. CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2001, Mr. Laurence oversees research and development and determines strategic direction. Prior to Octasic, Mr. Laurence co-founded InnoMediaLogic (IML) in 1996, and within a span of four years, as Chairman and President, he developed the company into a thriving multi-million dollar vendor of VoP solutions. NMS Communications purchased IML in 2000 and Mr. Laurence was appointed VP and General Manager of NMS Communications' Network Access Business Unit.
Lars-Erik Norum, Solution Marketing Manager Large Enterprises, Alcatel
Lars Erik Norum has a University degree in Economics and Computer Sience, and has been working within Alcatel's Enterprise Solutions Divison for the last six years. Today, he is responsible for solutions targeting large enterprises in the Nordics with a special focus on IP communications applications.
