Next generation media gateways must meet the increasingly complex and ever changing requirements of network convergence for multi-media services. In this presentation, Dr. Foodeei will provide an update on the advances in voice over packet system-on-chip silicon technology that enables next generation media gateways to meet current market challenges.
Majid Foodeei, System Architect/Technical Marketing, Centillium Communications
Dr. Majid Foodeei has more than 12 years of experience in speech and video signal processing and telecommunication R&D. He is a system architect with the gateway wireline and wireless VoP Entropia product family. Majid previous work at N.E.T., focused on the architectural design for a new media server card. Prior to N.E.T., Majid was a Member of Scientific Staff at the Wireless R&D group, Nortel Networks, Canada. His work included development of new echo cancellation and compression techniques for wireless networks including AMR. He is an active participant in international standards and has been awarded four patents and has over 12 publications. Majid holds a Ph.D. in EE and Telecommunication from McGill University, Canada.
