The communications landscape continues to rapidly change providing new opportunities for consumers and enterprises. A major communications replacement cycle is underway. Businesses worldwide are sending a clear message that IP is the future. Dr. Matthews will talk about the move to VoIP, the growth of content aware networks and the ongoing development of the industry as a whole.

As co-founder and Chairman of Mitel, Terry has led Mitel to become a leader in providing next generation IP telephony solutions for broadband networks. Terry was also the founder and CEO of Newbridge Networks, which under his tenure became a leader in the worldwide data network industry. Newbridge was acquired by Alcatel in May 2000.

In addition to Mitel, Terry is Chairman of Newport Networks Limited, Convedia Corporation, March Networks and MKC Networks. He is a strategic investor in Ubiquity Software and Natural Convergence.

Terry holds an honours degree in electronics from the University of Wales and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire and awarded a Knighthood.
