Having won Abbey National Bank's Hosted IP Telephony 5 year contract worth ~ $200 Million, and in preparation of securing customers that are expected to be significantly larger/bigger, BT has invested in implementing a VoIP provisioning solution that would allow them to implement and manage VoIP services for these customers rapidly and cost effectively.

The speaker will, using this case study, present the methodology adopted to successfully implement Hosted IP Telephony Services for large enterprise customers. The session will highlight the strategy, the approach taken and the plans underway for widespread adoption of business VoIP services.

Glenn Presland is the Hosted VoIP Product Manager at BT Global Services, where he oversees the development, marketing, and delivery of BT’s hosted UK and European VoIP products. Glenn’s duties include alignment with both BT’s vision and provide succession to existing legacy Voice VPN products such as FeatureNet, to developing a migration strategy for customers requiring convergence of voice and data in order to take them seamlessly from old wave to new wave technology without disruption to their core business. Glenn also manages a wide matrix team from BT Exact, Wholesale Global Services Solutions and Retail to deliver solutions to BT’s customers, as well as managing supplier relationships. His responsibilities also include the global strategy for integration of the UK and European product base with the Global MPLS network to provide customers a global dial plan. Subsequent to his position at BT Global Services, Glenn was the Multimedia VoIP Service Manager at BT Ignite.
