WiFi and Enterprise

The early adopters of WiFi services have been the Enterprises, but has the network been architected for islands of hot spots or campus support. This panel looks at the requirements for Enterprise's to continue expanding and leading the market.



Jon Schnelz, Vice President, Ecuity Advanced Communications

Jon provides managerial and technical leadership to Ecuity's Development and
Network Operations organizations. Jon is responsible for the research, development, and implementation of new technologies and for providing the technological direction for the company's products and solutions. Jon's background includes over ten years involvement in Packet Voice Technologies. Prior to coming onboard at Ecuity, Jon was the Vice President of Engineering at SJI Corporation, a local Network Integration company. At SJI, Jon was in charge of Pre-sales and Post-sales engineering efforts, as well as developing the project management infrastructure for supporting a geographically diverse customer base. Additional background includes several years in sales in the communications industry, as well as an accounting education from WSU.



Roger Sands, Vice President of Enterprise Development, Colubris Networks Inc

Roger Sands brings 20 years of engineering and executive management
experience to Colubris Networks. Most recently, he served as general manager
responsible for engineering and U.S. business development for the enterprise
WLAN business of Accton Technologies. At Accton he built and led the unit
from formation through product release and high-volume delivery. Prior to
Accton, Sands was general manager of 3Com’s Business Access Solutions
division. He has also held senior engineering positions at US Robotics
(acquired by 3Com), Bytex and Digital Equipment Corporation (acquired by
Compaq/HP).



Joaquin Sufuentes, e-Business and IT Director for the Wireless Networking Group, Intel

Joaquin Sufuentes is the eBusiness and Information Technology Director for Intel's Wireless Networking Group (WNG); managing the strategic IT and IS business for WNG, with primary focus on enabling the enterprise market for a greater value driven adoption of wireless products.

Previously, Joaquin held similar positions with Intel's Consumer Electronics Group, Network Processing Group and the Access and Switching Group. Joaquin came to Intel via the acquisition of Trillium Digital Systems, a leading communications software company; where he served as CIO. Additionally, Joaquin has experience delivering wireless business solutions with WLL, LMDS and MMDS systems in Latin America.

Joaquin has earned a Masters from Harvard University and a Bachelors from the University of California Berkeley, both focused on international trade and finance.



Richard Watson, Director of Product Management, LongBoard

Richard Watson is Director of Product Management for LongBoard, Inc. He is responsible for managing LongBoard’s LMAP Applications Server and the OnePhone Application Software product lines. Prior to joining LongBoard he was Director of Product Marketing for Symbol Technologies’ WiFi Telephony VoIP products, where he managed software engineering teams and was responsible for developing Symbol’s WiFi Telephony products. Before joining Symbol, he worked in a variety of senior engineering and marketing roles for over 20 years in the industry for network and wireless companies including 3Com and Motorola. He contributes regularly to trade journals writing on leading edge topics on wireless VoIP and frequently participates on panels at industry shows.
