The Fast Net
Tuesday, March 8, 2005, 9:00am - 10:15am

Two days to change your understanding of what working on the Net will be as speeds increase dramatically. Conference Chair Dave Burstein gets to talk as a reporter to some of the most interesting people in the world about what our work will be. Once a year Dave brings some of the best together for two days to exchange ideas with each other. In 2003 we learned fiber was ready to go home; today Verizon and NTT are deploying millions of lines. In 2004 we had the world's first demonstration of DSL at 100 megabits and presentations of how cable will go that fast and more. This year we'll introduce the technology and center on what's going to happen on the Net, especially the IP video that anyone who came to Fast Net the last two years knew would be ready to explode today.
