Bill Huang, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering, UTStarcom,Inc.
Prior to joining UTStarcom in 1994, Mr. Huang held engineering and management positions in several telecommunications companies including AT&T CellRelay Systems (a unit of Bell Labs), Ascom Timeplex, Genius Telecom, Timeplex Inc., and Racal-Milgo. For the last 15 years, he has been involved in the development of key communication technologies, including analog modem, T1/E1 TDM circuit switching, Frame Relay, ATM, IP inter-networking, PDH/SDH (SONET) fiber transmissions, Access Networks, Wireless Local Loop, Central Office Switching, and IP telephony. Mr. Huang holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science & Technology.
Paul Morris, Executive Director, UTOPIA
Paul T. Morris is Executive Director of the Utah Telecommunication Open Infrastructure Agency (UTOPIA), a governmental entity created by 14 Utah cities to build an open wholesale fiber optic network to all homes and businesses within the member cities. He has served as the City Attorney for West Valley City, Utah, since 1983. He has been the Chair of the Utah League of Cities and Towns Telecommunications Task Force since 1997.
Vladimir Prodanovic, Managing Director, FiberToTheHome.INFO
Vladimir is an independent consultant focusing on industry analysis and economics of the fiber to the home. He has been advising different leading municipalities and condominiums in The Netherlands and other countries, on broadband service and fiber-network strategies. Before starting FiberToTheHome.info, Vladimir worked as Business Development Manager for B2 Benelux and KPN Research, Department of Network Planning and Business Modelling. Vladimir Prodanovic holds both Master and Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and the University of Belgrade.
Jim Sackman, Vice President and CTO, Tellabs
Jim Sackman is Vice President and Chief Technical Officer for Tellabs Access Product Group. Mr. Sackman is responsible for planning the evolution of Tellabs access product portfolio to meet needs of service providers as they meet growing consumer and business bandwidth demands. He is a recognized industry expert in narrowband, broadband, and fiber access systems. He came to Tellabs in 2004 via the acquisition of AFC.
Prior to joining AFC in 1997, he spent 12 years at Racal-Datacom, Siemens Information Systems, Modular Computer, and Fairchild Test Systems. He received his bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and holds four U.S. patents in the areas of ATM switching and system timing.
