Architecting the Enterprise FMC Solution

This panel session will explore the key drivers in determining the most efficient and cost effective network architecture for an enterprise implementing a Fixed Mobile Convergent strategy. What influencers help a CIO to decide on the best architecture for his network and what is the correct mix of applications that will be deployed? What factors should be considered when developing a converged solution? What steps can be taken to monitor the success of the solution, and what additional planning considerations should be taken to ensure future growth?



Craig Gosselin, Chief Marketing Officer, NewStep Networks

Craig is responsible for business strategy, offer management, marketing, and communications at NewStep Networks. A leader with 20 years of experience, Craig has successfully led business units, marketing, and sales organizations in corporate, venture capital, and private equity environments.
Prior to joining NewStep, Craig served as Chief Marketing/Sales Officer at Velocita Wireless. Prior to joining Velocita, Craig served as Vice President of Sales and Channel Marketing at Virgin Mobile USA. Previous to Virgin Mobile, Craig held the position of Senior Vice President at American Express. From 1998 to 2000, Craig was a Managing Director with Deutsche Bank, where he was responsible for creating, building, and leading the worldwide Client Service Organization supporting the Securities Services business. From 1986 to 1998, Craig held multiple leadership roles within AT&T.
Craig received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a M.B.A. degree from the University of Houston.



David Hattey, President & CEO, FirstHand Technologies

Dave's 26 years of technology and leadership experience spans the entire value chain including end user, reseller, operator, and OEM.



Prior to joining FirstHand, Dave served as VP and GM, Enterprise Voice Solutions at 3Com. Dave also served as President of EFJohnson, a provider of wireless communications systems, leading a turnaround resulting in the company's first profitable year since going public 5 years earlier.



Before, Dave served as VP, Operations for RACOM Corporation and held executive positions at General Electric, the Ericsson/GE joint venture, and Ericsson. Dave earned bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from the University of Michigan and his master's degree in business administration from Duke's Fuqua School of Business. Dave holds 11 patents.



Dan Jacobson, Senior Portfolio Manager, Converged Voice Services, Sprint Nextel

Dan Jacobson is Senior Portfolio Manager for Converged Voice Services at Sprint Nextel. He leads a dynamic team of individuals responsible for the technical development and life cycle management of integrated wireline and wireless services. In 2006, his team launched Sprint Wireless Integration, a product which extends the PBX functionality to a mobile handset. Dan has over 20 years of industry experience across a diverse set of disciplines including VoIP, FMC and TDM product development, network, information technology, business development, operations, marketing, regulatory and customer service.

Dan received his Masters in Business Administration from Baker University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.



Geri Mitchell- Brown, Wi-Fi Strategist and Director of Technical Business Development, SpectraLink, now a part of Polycom

Geri Mitchell-Brown is Polycom’s director of technical business development for Polycom’s wireless division (SpectraLink). Mitchell-Brown establishes technical alliances with industry-leading companies, influences corporate product strategy and represents Polycom in Wi-Fi industry associations. She has been instrumental in the success of the company’s innovative, industry-leading Wi-Fi telephony product line.

In addition to her responsibilities at Polycom, Mitchell-Brown chairs the Wi-Fi Alliance’s Voice over Wi-Fi marketing task group. She is a sought-after industry spokesperson and an expert in the area of enterprise Wi-Fi telephony.

Prior to joining SpectraLink in 1997, Mitchell-Brown worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in the Network Solutions practice. Her focus was on data network design and network performance analysis.

Mitchell-Brown holds a master’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Colorado and a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from the University of Northern Colorado.



Eric Ritter, Director, WLAN & Enterprise Voice Solutions, Research In Motion

Eric Ritter is the Director, WLAN & Enterprise Voice Solutions for Research In Motion. In the 7 years that Eric has been at RIM, he has held a variety of positions at including being a founding member of the BlackBerry Solutions Group, technical lead on RIM’s BlackBerry Enterprise Server for IBM Lotus Domino, and managing the technical team for one of RIM’s largest carrier partners. In his current position he leads a dynamic group of individuals focused on the technical product marketing of RIM’s WiFi and Enterprise Voice Solutions.

Prior to joining RIM, Eric had extensive experience managing Microsoft focused infrastructures including large Exchange environments, as well as a background in the Telecom world.

Eric is a native of Toronto, Ontario and now resides in Waterloo, Ontario.
