Video has become a netizen. No longer the bandwidth hog of the network, we are now seeing the benefits of visual communication. What does this mean for Fixed Mobile Convergence?



Ross Brennan, CEO, Cicero Networks

Ross Brennan is CEO and co-founder of Cicero Networks, an Irish headquartered software company that specializes in the development of voice over wireless IP solutions for the carrier and service provider market. Ross has extensive experience in the international software industry, providing solutions to multinational companies, including telecommunication operators and their enterprise customers. He is a regular speaker at conferences and forums, addressing the opportunities and challenges associated with delivering real-time communications over wired and wireless IP networks.



Barlow Keener, Attorney, Keener Law Group

Barlow Keener is a telecom attorney with Keener Law Group. He has extensive experience in telecommunications, internet, and entertainment law. He helps clients in the wireless, video on the internet, VoIP, and telecommunications industries. Prior to Keener Law Group, Barlow served as CEO and Legal Counsel for a regional facilities-based CLEC in New England. He was instrumental in implementing strategic partnerships and designing the network. He also served General Attorney at CSA, Inc. an international consumer marketing company using direct-to-the-consumer video advertisements on cable and network television. He also headed up a telecommunications startup in Central Europe, Keener Kereskeldmi, Kft., focused on providing telephone service in rural Hungary and Poland.



Barlow started his career in telecommunications as a General Attorney with BellSouth Telecommunications (now AT&T) where he focused on regulatory, contract, and employment law. He has a JD from Emory University and BA from the University of the South.



Anatoli Levine, Sr. Director, Software Support, RADVISION

Anatoli Levine is Senior Director of Software Support at RADVISION. He joined RADVISION in 1998 as a senior software engineer, working on all aspects of designing and implementing the company's H.323 solutions. Since 1999, Levine has been responsible for a group of engineers that provide support and consulting services for all RADVISION Technology Business Unit's ToolKit products implementing international standards like SIP, H.323, MGCP/MEGACO, 3G-324M and others.

Since 2006, Levine is a President of IMTC – International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium – an organization facilitating open standards interoperabilty of video delivery technologies.

Levine holds Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Minsk Radio-Engineering Institute.



Tal Shalom, Director, System Engineering, Layered Media

Tal Shalom, Director of Systems Engineering for Layered Media is responsible for defining the system integration requirements of the company's break-through technology development toolkits. Tal focuses on integration with multi point and multi media communications architectures including FMC, video conferencing, and web collaboration. Tal is a VOIP pioneer with deep expertise in telecommunication both with vendors and carriers. Tal has held senior management positions in system engineering, product management and convergence program management at industry leading companies including VocalTec and Global Crossing. Tal received his MS degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.



Aaron Sipper, Director, Product Marketing, Reef Point

Mr. Sipper has 15 years experience in developing and marketing complete life cycle management for circuit- and packet-switching, VoIP, data networking, IMS and wireless products and solutions.



He is a regular speaker on fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) security and service management challenges, industry standards and solutions and recently wrote “Securing the IMS Network,” a comprehensive security and quality of service treatise for service providers. This treatise is one of the most popular downloaded documents on FMC security related topics on the Internet today.



His experience spans consulting and well as senior positions at telecommunications equipment manufacturers. Prior to Reef Point, he was a founder and the Vice President of Strategy for Sentito Networks, a VoIP infrastructure provider. Earlier, he was Systems Engineering Manager for Tellabs/Salix Technologies, a Class 4 media gateway start up. His career also includes product line management, systems and software engineering positions at various telecommunications equipment manufacturers.



Akshay Sharma, Research Director, Carrier Network Infrastructure, Converged Infrastructure, Gartner - Dataquest

Akshay Sharma has an extensive background in telecom with pioneering Softswitch companies and managed teams contributing to two Cablelabs standards. He has over 17 years experience in telecom where he has held multiple leading vendor and carrier positions. Mr. Sharma was instrumental in Siemens putting together the UMTS, IMS solution with Cingular. Sharma has held a CTO position for a firm with Fixed Mobile Convergence technology: prototype dual mode GSM/WiFi phones, SIP App Servers, and the patent on seamless session continuity for Voice, Video, and Data from Macro-Cellular Networks to WiFi and back.
