Candidate will work as a member of the Development team, designing and developing next generation VoIP services.
We are seeking an energetic, organized Database Programmer/Developer with 3 to 5 years database and programming experience to help design and implement data model, replication infrastructure, operational procedures and stored procedures and scripts. This is primarily a development role, not an operational role although there will be operational responsibilities at the start.
The majority of the time will be spent coding, constructing databases and end user functionality with some architecting.
Minimum Required Skills:
Must be able to work in an extremely fast-paced and dynamic environment. Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task. BA degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 3years of demonstrated experience or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of interface design concepts
- Demonstrated experience with database development, implementation, and administration in a Linux / Unix environment
- Working knowledge of relational databases and distributed database concepts
- Programming experience in C, C++, and/or Perl
- Must be familiar with TCP/IP and most Internet services, including: DNS, web and email
- Demonstrated experience optimizing databases & SQL queries to enhance performance
- Must have a solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts
- Must effectively translate technical specifications into module design and code
Demonstrated knowledge with the following databases:
MySQL, Postgres, or Oracle
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Clear understanding of complete development life cycle from design through implementation
- Demonstrated schema design experience
- Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
