Ever read an article so glowing about a company that you just wanna pick up the phone and tell your broker to buy 10,000 shares and put it on your American Express.
Here are my picks ....
Healtheon - Jim Clark of Netscape fame is bored. Talk about Attention Deficit Disorder. So what does he do - start another company to put the medical industry on the Net. Why not! Everyone needs a hobby.
Empirical Media - This Pittsburgh based company is working on intelligent agent software that will search the net for stuff you'll find interesting. It works like this. Say your a white male aged 45 and drive a Volvo. One day you search the net for information on hemorrhoids. The next day, every white Volvo driving guy who signs on the net will be inundated with ads for Preparation H. Sounds neat. Madison Ave. loves the concept and so does the Wall Street Journal.
Narrative Software - Another article in the Wall Street Journal. They make software which is supposed to facilitate the downloading of information over the Net. Backed by Greylock Managment, the same VC that did Spyglass and OpenMarket. I read the article three times and still couldn't figure out what made the software so great but I was left with the gnawing feeling to buy the stock regardless.
If you've seen some private companies that you'd like to see go public, just send them along to me at tout_my_stock@pulver.com.
