There are many opportunities for OS developers to add value, and there are strong parallels to what Skype is now doing to telecom with peer-to-peer.
Bob Bickel, VP Corporate Strategy and Development, Jboss
As Executive Vice President at JBoss, Inc., Bob is responsible for strategy, corporate development and partnerships. Prior to founding Bickel Advisory Services, he was the General Manager of the HP Middleware Division. Before joining HP, Bickel was executive vice president of products for Bluestone Software Inc., acquired by HP in January 2001. Before Bluestone, Bickel spent eleven years at Digital Equipment Corporation. Bickel holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Bucknell University and a master's degree in business administration in finance from Temple University. Bob also serves as an advisor or board member to Arjuna, Apax Partners, Baker Capital, Bristol Technologies, and JBoss, Inc.
Al Brisard, Vice President of Marketing, Pingtel
Al Brisard serves as vice president of marketing at Pingtel Corp. where he oversees the product strategy and all marketing elements. Prior to Pingtel, Brisard was VP and GM at MCK Communications where he was responsible for product strategy, marketing, and expanding the development of MCK's remote voice products over broadband networks. Brisard also served as director of marketing and business development for 3Com's Personal Communications Division. Brisard has an MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University.

Jonathan Christensen is the Vice President of Products and Chief Technology Officer for FaceTime Communications. He leads the company's next-generation technology efforts. Christensen brings more than a decade of experience shaping the growth of real-time communications and technology solutions for Microsoft and Time Warner. At Microsoft he held management positions related to telecom and Real-Time Communications. At Time Warner Jonathan was an early pioneer of consumer and commercial Internet services. Christensen has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Fabrizio Capobianco, CEO, Funambol
Capobianco, a serial entrepreneur and veteran executive at Reuters and Tibco, founded the first Italian Internet company, Internet Graffiti. In addition to Internet Graffiti, a pioneering Web marketing company, he also founded Stigma Online, developer of an information portal product with customers that included Kraft, Novartis and the Italian Broadcasting Television. A finance executive at Tibco when the division was acquired by Reuters, Capobianco subsequently led the worldwide pre-sales, deployment and support of Reuters Mercury, a leading software solution for online trading. In addition to his monthly column for Wireless Magazine, Capobianco has taught courses on wireless and mBusiness strategies at the University of Pavia in Italy where he received his Ph.D. in computer science.
