SIP & the Enterprise

The Enterprise is where a common infrastructure for voice and data becomes apparent, thus the adoption of SIP in the Enterprise is a logical conclusion. This panel addresses the issues surrounding the benefits of this common infrastructure as well as the Enterprise’s decision to implement it.



Alain Mouttham, CEO, SIPquest

Mr. Mouttham is a veteran CEO with experience spanning multi-domain software solutions for the Carrier and Enterprise markets. He was Co-founder and CEO of imGenie, a wireless Internet application vendor, which developed a dynamic personalization platform using intelligent agent technology. At Nortel Networks, he was responsible for the network and service management solutions market strategy for wireless Internet, IP Telephony and Optical
networks. As Founder and CEO of NetManSys, a Silicon Valley start-up, Mr. Mouttham provided network management software solutions for Carriers. At Hewlett-Packard, he headed the R&D team of one of its most successful products, HP Openview. Mr. Mouttham has a Masters in Computer Science from Stanford University and MBA executive development from INSEAD.



Larry O'Pella, Director, Managed Communications & Solutions, Alcatel

Larry O’Pella is Director of Managed Communications & Solutions for Alcatel North America having recently joined the Fixed Solutions Division from his previous roles in the corporate CTO team. His focus, since joining Alcatel in 1998, is Multimedia over IP leveraging his 20+ years in communications from mainframe to distributed networks from VLF to lasercom to telephony to packet systems. His most recent passion is extolling the virtues of convergence given the promise of user-centric services to multiple user-devices across multiple-user environments.



John Weald, Vice President of Product Development, Sylantro Systems

With more than 20 years of software development and management experience Mr. Weald is responsible for software architecture and design for Sylantro. Previously, he was Vice President of Engineering at Worldtalk, a supplier of Internet security and e-mail connectivity products. Prior to Worldtalk, he was Software Development Manager at Touch Communications, a leading provider of networking software. Mr. Weald's experience also includes engineering and management roles at Austec, AGS Computers, ITT, and Bell Labs. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Data Processing from Loughborough University, England.
