SIP and Testing

As a Text based code implementation; the ability to read the code indicates that testing has gotten somewhat easier. In migrating voice into a packet world as an application, though, the paradigm for testing changes from a connection-based model into a virtual network. This panel considers opportunities for changing the way testing is performed for voice services.



Tom Pincince, President & CEO, Brix Networks

Tom Pincince is the president and chief executive officer of privately held Brix Networks of Chelmsford, Mass. The company develops and markets service assurance and performance management solutions used by carriers, service providers, cable operators, large enterprises, and government agencies to build, operate, and assure their VoIP networks and services. Prior to founding Brix Networks in July 1999, Pincince, a veteran of the telecommunications and data networking industries, was the founder of New Oak Communications, a provider of extranet VPN switches. Previously, as an industry analyst, he was director of Forrester Research's Network Strategy Service. Pincince holds a ScB. with Honors from Brown University.



Larry Scheck, VP of Sales, RADCOM

Larry Scheck is responsible for RADCOM's North American sales activities. Larry's team formulates sales initiatives and develops tactical and strategic customer relationships.

Larry joined RADCOM in 1997 as a Regional Sales Manager and became Vice President of sales in 2000. In his current position, Larry coordinates the activities of RADCOM's sales channel, marketing and support organizations in order to provide customers with the highest level of benefit.

Larry has been involved in the sale of high performance test equipment for over twenty years having experience as a manufacturer's representative and as a field sales engineer for Agilent.

Larry Scheck holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.



Ari Takanen, CEO, Codenomicon Ltd.

Ari Takanen, founder and CEO of Codenomicon has for years already been studying information security issues in next generation networks and security critical environments. The work of Codenomicon and University of Oulu aims at ensuring that new technologies are accepted by the general public by providing means of measuring and ensuring quality in networked software. Ari Takanen is one of the people behind the PROTOS research that studied information security and reliability errors in e.g. SIP implementations.
