General Session: The SIP Service Providers Road Ahead

It is in this broad forum that the Carriers explain their drive to adopt SIP, as well as the strategic importance SIP represents in the development of their future service offerings. Whether it is a consumer DID over IP carrier, or an IP Centrex solution or a specific application (e.g., conferencing), the carriers explain their perceived benefits in treating voice as an application.
Louis Holder, EVP Product Development, Vonage
Louis Holder manages the development of Vonage's technology infrastructure and support services, including systems development and web application development. Before joining Vonage, Mr. Holder was a vice president in the program trading technology group at PaineWebber, where he performed business and technical analysis and was responsible for the development of a next-generation program trading system. Prior to PaineWebber, Mr. Holder was a senior software developer at Cantor Fitzgerald where he developed several analytical and trading applications. Mr. Holder holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Polytechnic University, New York.
Bryan Martin, President & CEO, 8x8, Inc.
Bryan R. Martin is Chairman & CEO of 8x8, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT) and has served as CEO and as a director since February 2002. From February 2001 to February 2002 he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. He served as 8x8s Chief Technical Officer from August 1995 to August 2000. In addition, Mr. Martin served in various technical roles for 8x8 from April 1990 to August 1995. Mr. Martin is an inventor on 31 United States Patents in the fields of semiconductors, computer architecture, video processing algorithms, videophones and communications. He received a B.S. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Jean-Francois Mule, Director, PacketCable Architecture, CableLabs
Jean-François Mulé is the lead architect for PacketCable, the premiere IP service platform for delivering voice and multimedia applications over IP over cable. Jean-François and his team are responsible for the technical design and evolution of the PacketCable architecture & specifications.
He is active in the IETF and co-chair of the IETF IP over Cable Data Network working group. He is the co-author of several publications including the IETF SIP MIB. From 1999-2002, he served as a Director of the Technical Advisory Council for the International Softswitch Consortium.
Prior to CableLabs, Jean-François worked for Clarent where he directed the development of Clarent open interfaces.
Dennis Morton, VP of Product Development, Global Crossing
Dennis Morton oversees the commercialization of Global Crossing’s solution set, including converged IP solutions, such as Voice over IP (VoIP), IP VPN and Managed Services. He is responsible for end-to-end product development for all of the company’s products and solutions.
During his career at Global Crossing, Mr. Morton has been instrumental in building Global Crossing’s services on its seamless, carrier-class IP network, including voice, data, collaboration, access and bandwidth services. Also key to his responsibilities are finding ways to help Global Crossing and its customers save by leveraging least cost routing, and new access capabilities onto the Global Crossing network as well as providing customers with Web-based Customer Controlled enhanced service features.
Simon Mciver, Senior Director - Enterprise, Net2Phone
Simon McIver is the Senior Director of Net Phone's enterprise solutions group, with responsibility for the development of the overall Net2Phone enterprise market strategy, and corresponding product management, sales and marketing programs. With more than fifteen years of global telecommunications and information technology industry sales and marketing experience, Simon brings a unique global perspective to the business challenges of offering telecommunication and technology solutions to small and medium enterprises.
Ravi Sakaria, President/Co-Founder, VoicePulse
