Barry Andrews, President, 8x8

Dr. Barry Andrews, President of 8x8, Inc., oversees sales, marketing, engineering and operations of Packet8 residential and business services. Prior to his role as President, Dr. Andrews served as 8x8's Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technical Officer, managing the development and deployment of the Packet8 VoIP service. With more than ten years of experience in audio, video and telecommunications research and product development, Dr. Andrews holds several U.S. patents in the areas of video compression and communications. He received a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science from Simon Fraser University as well as an M.S in Electrical Engineering, an M.S. in Statistics, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.



Brian Caskey, VP International Marketing – Strategic Technology, UTStarcom

Caskey is responsible for the International Marketing organization at UTStarcom. Previously Caskey was responsible for design and architecture of Next Generation Wireline and Wireless SoftSwitch based packet networks. In his eight years with the company, Caskey has spoken at many industry related events and evangelized SoftSwitch and Packetized Telephony throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. Caskey has also designed ATM, Frame Relay and IP networks for retail, financial, public utility and service provider clients.

Caskey has over twenty years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining UTStarcom, he held positions with 3Com, Timeplex and GTE Spacenet.



Joe Mangiocavallo, VoIP Product Line Manager, RADCOM

Joe Mangiocavallo joined RADCOM in 2000 and played a key role in the creation of the company's Quality Management Business unit. In his current position, Joe provides strategic and tactical direction for the company's award-winning portfolio of VoIP Network and Service Quality Analysis, Monitoring and Simulation Solutions.

Joe's prior industry experience includes product development and marketing of multi-service, multi-protocol solutions for Voice over Frame Relay, Voice over ATM and Voice over Internet Protocol.

He is fluent in English, Italian and French and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Dawson College in Montreal, Canada.



John Odonnell, CTO, Equator Technologies

John O'Donnell co-founded Equator Technologies, Inc., in 1996 with the intention of applying VLIW and Trace Scheduling technologies to a wide range of products. Clientele included DEC, Intel, Fujitsu, NEC, and Texas Instruments. Prior to Equator, Mr. O'Donnell was a co-founder and Vice President of Engineering at Multiflow Computer, Inc., which pioneered VLIW architecture and Trace Scheduling compiler technologies. He was Chief Architect for Multiflow's VLIW processors and led all engineering including the development and refinement of the company's Trace Scheduling compilers. Mr. O'Donnell holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Yale University.



Sam Shiffman, Executive Vice President, PointOne

As Executive Vice President, Mr. Shiffman is Chief Architect and is responsible for managing the design and deployment of the PointOne network. In addition, Mr. Shiffman serves in an instrumental role for developing new product initiatives as well as establishing strategic partnerships. He chairs PointOne’s patent committee and is responsible for several patents pending in IP network design. He also served on the Customer Advisory Board of Alcatel, North America. During the late 90's Shiffman also helped design and built one of the first Ethernet based Optical IP networks that provided broadband services to businesses and off-campus students in dormitories and apartments.
