Support Systems for SIP

With the Internet being the solution for both data systems and voice, it promises a better integration of support systems to the network it manages. Whether it's methods of service delivery, improved configuration, or general network management, the next generation of support systems is coming on board today. This panel looks at how support system innovation is delivering improved productivity and better customer care.
* How can customers get immediate satisfaction from IP communications services? Specifically, do we need "truck rolls" any more?
* Has the convergence of network services caused a congestion in the configuration of new applications?



Camilla Dahlen, President, Highdeal

Camilla Dahlen is responsible for Highdeal’s strategy and operations in the Americas region. Previously, Ms. Dahlen had global account management responsibilities for EHPT, a joint venture between Ericsson and Hewlett-Packard, where she served customers throughout Europe, South America and USA. She helped build EHPT's South American operations into one of the most successful OSS/BSS software businesses in the region. Prior to EHPT, Ms. Dahlen led strategic marketing and competitive analysis initiatives at Telia, the telecommunications leader in Scandinavia and northern Europe. She holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Boston College and a bilingual MBA in Spanish/English from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain.



Kevin Farrell, VP Product Mgmt. & Mktg., TeleGea

Kevin Farrell has a proven track record in innovatively utilizing new technologies and capitalizing on new market opportunities. Prior to his current role at TeleGea, Kevin served as Portfolio Director at Nortel Networks where he built and led an IP mediation business with solutions for Wireless, Optical, VPN, VoIP and Access technologies. Kevin also served as a founding member of Bay Networks' Service and Network Management group, and was a Member of Technical Staff at both Lucent Technologies and AT&T Bell Laboratories. Kevin currently holds several patents in service management.



Tim Hoolihan, VP Marketing & Product Mgmt, Primal Solutions

Mr. Tim Hoolihan is Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at Primal Solutions, Inc., a communications software company offering services and solutions that enable communications service providers to generate revenue from their next generation networks. At Primal, Tim’s focus is on expanding relationships with key partners and customers, and on identifying new business opportunities and market strategies. Prior to joining Primal in 1998, Tim served as a business consultant to technology companies, co-founded a venture-backed content aggregation service and was a commercial lawyer. Tim earned Bachelor's and Graduate degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.



Brian Mc Cann, Director, Product Marketing, Portal Software

Brian McCann is director of product marketing at Portal Software and has over 18 years of experience in wireless communications business development, marketing, and engineering. Prior to Portal, Brian served as a marketing and technical consultant to BT Cellnet, BellSouth, Northern Telecom, Logica, Motorola, and others. He holds an MS in Telecommunications Engineering & Management from Southern Methodist University and is a frequent industry speaker.
