VON OTN, Spring 2001

Testing notes - AdTech

The OTN was a great experience where VoIP professionals were able to exchange ideas about their domains, and get useful information about the maturity level of various products belonging to the same solution. This kind of tests make possible for anyone to list all the development flows processed by the other companies, to compare some strategic choices in concurrent products, and to refine some choices to find the shortest way to interoperability.

The main tests were made on SIP devices, which was fine because, as I thought before and as it was confirmed at the OTN, this technology is new and need some practical use to become a strong standard.

As it was difficult to report you all the successful tests, here is a list of devices that our products (SIP or H.323 endpoints) were able to interoperate with :

- SIP Phone from Ortena (Startek) - direct or proxied
- SIP Phone from Pingtel - direct or proxied
- SIP SoftPhone from Hearme
- H.323 product from Voxeo
- SIP or H.323 communication with any devices (SIP, H.323 or MGCP) through Softswitch
- SIP communication through SIP/MGCP Softswitch from Nuera
- SIP registering/proxying with Indigo SIP server
- SIP Phone from Commworks
- SIP registering/proxying with Commworks SIP server
- SIP gateway from Mockingbird
- SIP communication through SIP Softswitch from Vocaldata
- SIP MCU from Voyant
