Testing notes - Voyant

 

Voyant configuration

ICe conferencing server, capable of terminating 48 IP calls.

1 PingTel Expressa phone

1 3Com SIP phone

Dial out capability through the ICe moderator web interface

SIP Session timer support.

 

Comgates

H.323, MGCP, SIP gateway

Calls direct to and from the Comgates gateway,

6 calls into conference,

4 through the Comgates gateway,

Phone number    5661111, H.323 endpoint (MicroSoft NetMeeting PC)

6150000, MGCP endpoint  (Hard phone)

6667777, Pingtel SIP endpoint

1 from the Voyant PingTel phone,

Dialed 6 lines into conference,

Disconnected 2 lines (5661111 and 6150000) from the Voyant ICe moderator interface

Dialed 2 lines (5661111 and 615000) from the Voyant ICe moderator interface

Verified that all lines had full duplex voice path.

 

SIP Session timer test

Configured the Voyant conference server to support SIP Session timers

Dialed in 4 lines, held them up for several minutes

Verified that the Voyant SIP Session timer software issued several RE-INVITES during this time

Verified that the calls remained connected and had full duplex voice path for the duration of the test

 

Voice quality was good.

 

Several calls in and out through Indigo, Ubiquity and CommWorks proxies.

Verified that all lines had full duplex voice path

Configured the Voyant conference server to use the Indigo proxy as a local outbound proxy.

Made several calls through the Indigo proxy

       

Problems encountered: The Voyant conference server will allow users to dial tel url only, we did not supply a host name in the to field, this caused

the Indigo proxy some problems.

                       

Calls through the Indigo proxy were successful only if the recipient was registered with this proxy, no proxy to proxy calls were successful

                                               

Ubiquity

Received several calls through this proxy

                       

Configured the Voyant conference server to use the Ubiquity proxy as a local outbound proxy.

Made several calls through the Indigo proxy
