VoIP Mesh Networks: Enabling Seamless Transitioning Between WiFi Sites

Phil Belanger, Vice President of Marketing, BelAir Networks

PhPhil Belanger has more than 25 years of experience in R&D and marketing for companies in the network systems industry. One of the founders of the Wi-Fi Alliance, Mr. Belanger served as chairman from the organization's inception in August of 1999 through March of 2001. He was one of the authors of the DFWMAC protocol, which was selected as the foundation for the IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol standard. Prior to joining BelAir, Mr. Belanger served as Vivato's Vice-President of Marketing and was Vice-President of Marketing and Vice-President of Wireless Business Development at Wayport. Earlier in his career, Mr. Belanger was general manager of communications products at Adaptec, Inc., and director of the network architecture group at Corvus Systems.



Matt Holdrege, Director of Business Development for Europe, Middle East & Africa, Strix Systems

Matt Holdrege is Director of EMEA Business Development at Strix Systems, a technology leader in wireless local area networking systems. Mr. Holdrege has 20 years of network and systems Business Development and Engineering experience at companies such as Sonus, ipVerse, Lucent, Ascend, and GTE. He has been actively involved with VoIP and VON since 1997 with focus on standards and architecture, and has chaired or led committees in the IETF, ETSI, and ITU-T, and chairs the Legal Intercept group at the International Packet Communications Consortium.



Richard Lander, Director, LocustWorld

Richard Lander’s career spans 25 years of computers and communications. With a strong background in open systems and Internet communications going back to the early days of the PC and the Internet, he has a strong pedigree of innovation in the technology sector. The LocustWorld Mesh is an innovative wireless mesh system used in thousands of mesh networks around the world to deliver broadband internet services. New routing protocols, certificated security, bandwidth controls, and Voice over IP support combine to make LocustWorld a market leader in wireless mesh.



Devabhaktuni Srikrishna, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Tropos Networks

Devabhaktuni Srikrishna (“Sri”) is founder and Chief Technology Officer of Tropos Networks. Mr. Devabhaktuni designed and developed Tropos Networks’ core intellectual property to build the industry’s first wireless mesh architecture for metro-scale networks. The innovative and patented MetroMeshTM architecture allows public safety agencies, municipalities and service providers to quickly and easily deliver city-wide fixed and mobile broadband connectivity to users in any locale. Mr. Devabhaktuni is currently working on new techniques for supporting VoIP across the mesh. Prior to founding Tropos, he led the development of the common network management interface for optical transport and switching products at Sycamore Networks. Areas of expertise include wireless communications, routing in large scale networks, and parallel computer architectures. Mr. Devabhaktuni holds a BS in Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology and an MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
